When i traveled up to highland of Vietnam, i saw many interesting motifs of minority ethnic groups in Vietnam. They used these motif to make dresses, cushion covers, paintings but the quality and design are not really good- it is always colorful. So the idea just appeared in my mind- why don’t i just combine these wonderful motif with modern materials such as wool, linen, leather- then- new designs, new products appear.

Adapter + Cup = Pencil holder By Felix Ng, Silnt

Everyday, there are new products being designed regardless of their necessity.
The Adapter was designed to introduce a new way of using an object people already owned. The Adapter is a flexible “plug-in” that can be used on almost any cylindrical object – like a cup, an empty food can or a glass beaker, turning it into an organised pen holder.
The idea is to reuse an existing object and simplify the way stationary is being organised.

Photographer Loves Math, Graphs Her Images

Here are some of the pictures the photographer named Nikki Graziano have captured. Graziano, is a math and photography student at Rochester Institute of Technology, she overlays graphs and their corresponding equations onto her carefully composed photos.

“I wanted to create something that could communicate how awesome math is, to everyone,” she says.

Graziano doesn’t go out looking for a specific function but lets one find her instead. Once she’s got an image she likes, Graziano whips up the numbers and tweaks the function until the graph it describes aligns perfectly with the photograph. See more of her Found Functions series at Nikkigraziano.com.
