I was 16. Family vacation. At the hotel, while getting ready to dine out, I remembered watching 15mins of a movie I knew nothing of.(EMPIRE RECORDS). I vowed that when I get back home (malaysia), I will find out. I did a year later, at a music store. I was a cassette collector (up until a bag of it was stolen in 2005). I love music. That’s when I saw the soundtrack. I remembered the characters and outfits. So I bought that but never could find the VHS. there were no internet back then. Of course, as soon as the DVD is available - there’s no pause. I think the best part of the movie, besides the music was the distinct individuality.
It still stung even now.
